At age 22, Fritz left behind the famously beautiful Fynbos of South Africa, where he learned to love nature. He also left behind his local surf spot at Noordhoek, and his family; all because he could not live with the Apartheid system of South Africa. In the Americas, as he carried out the various projects of his life, the disgust for the racism he had lived through, maintained in him a pensive resolve for justice. Fritz grew to love the sea at a very young age, partly because its vivid presence felt so far removed from our problems, but especially because the return to land brings a fresh and more objective view of human endeavors. Having two daughters has deepened his commitment to improving the world for all children. The path to film making began in 1980, when he was working as a commercial diver in Nova Scotia and was recruited to build a submarine set piece for a film.

Liam Stacey

A vision of humanity in harmony with the natural world has been the central guide of my many endeavors. This vision has been enriched and strengthened through my travels and efforts, and frequently reconsidered with all the critical thinking I could muster up. Sometime during my second year in College, I realized that the development of this vision was the single most important and all-encompassing project that I could consider. It has been both a nagging irritation and a breathtaking source of inspiration.

Alex Schlenker

Visual artist and scholar in cultural theory, whose artistic expression is based on still and moving images, language experimentation, and mixed media. His artistic and theoretical work focuses on the exploration of certain human (aesthetic) experiences such as language, nature, and the construction of difference and similarity from a decolonial perspective.

Angel Valverde

Working on the climate change agenda changed radically his view about the whole world. Among his interests is the creation of disruptive business models that incorporate a favorable mindset towards risk, innovation, and sustainability. He is also interested in value creation through organizational design, good corporate governance practices, empathic leadership, and sustainability. All of these interests become more challenging when there is included the volatility of financial markets, social changes, technological innovations, scarcity of natural resources, and climate change.
